Craft Guild holds sale at Main Beach
Laguna Craft Guild holds a free arts and crafts show and sale on
the cobblestones at Main Beach park from 10 a.m. to dusk Sunday.
Art and crafts handmade by local artists will be featured. For

Cookies and crafts at coffee shop
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 610 N. Coast Highway, will hold a
“Story and Craft Night” from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2.
Children will get complimentary hot cocoa and cookies. The store
is located on the corner of Boat Canyon and Coast Highway in the
Pavilions shopping center.

Film Society shows ‘Sonny Boy’
The Laguna Beach Film Society presents “Sonny Boy,” directed by
Soleil Moon Frye, at 7 p.m. Friday, June 3 at the Laguna Art Museum,
307 Cliff Drive, with a special appearance by the director.
Frye (who played the part of Punky Brewster) shares a personal
journey with her father, Virgil Frye, actor, human rights activist.
Virgil’s onset with Alzheimer changes their lives as they travel to
Virgil’s childhood home in Iowa to visit relatives.

Museum plans docent class
Laguna Art Museum is looking for new members for its Docent Corps,
an essential group of individuals who conduct informative tours and
educational outreach about the museum’s exhibitions for adults,
children, and a variety of schools and organizations.
An informational tea will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. August 11, and weekly provisional training will begin in October.

City Council seeks arts applicants
The Laguna Beach City Council is accepting applications for five
seats on the Arts Commission.
The seven-member Arts Commission meets the second and fourth
Mondays of each month at 5:30 p.m., and advises the council in all
matters pertaining to artistic aspects of the city, including
recommending ordinances, rules and regulations for the administration
and preservation of the fine/performing arts of the community.
The commission also oversees the Art in Public Places program.
Commissioners, who must be Laguna Beach residents, are appointed
for two-year terms.
Four of the seven members must be actively participating in the
arts, and commissioners receive compensation of $60 per month for
their services.
Applications are available at the city clerk’s office at City
Hall, 505 Forest Ave., and must be filed with the city clerk by 5
p.m. Tuesday, June 14. Applicants will be interviewed by the council
at a 6 p.m. June 21 meeting in the council chambers.
Auditions for
show ‘Seussical’
Gallimaufry Performing Arts holds open auditions for singers,
dancers and actors of all ages to perform in its summer musical
“Seussical the Musical.”
Auditions will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Legion Hall, 384
Legion St.
Those auditioning for “Seussical the Musical” are asked to call
(949) 499-5060 to schedule an appointment. There are roles for all
ages: singers, dancers, actors and chorus.
Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Younger performers, age 10 and above, can attend a musical theater
workshop to help train them in musical theater techniques in
preparation for “Seussical.”
All students are guaranteed to be part of the ensemble in the
summer production of “Seussical the Musical.”
The musical theater workshop runs Monday through Friday from 10
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Both the workshop and rehearsals for “Seussical”
will be held at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach.

The Museum Store at Laguna Art Museum will hold a progressive
summer clearance sale for museum members and non-members.
On Friday, everything in the store will be 50% off to museum
members only. Today, everything will be 40% off to non-members and
50% off to members. From Saturday , to Friday, June 3, everything
will be 50% off for everyone.
From Saturday, June 4 to Sunday, June 12 everything will be 60%
off to members and non-members alike.
The museum is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 307 Cliff
