Summer Camp Costa Mesa
When: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., June 27 -- August 26
Where: Estancia Park, 1900 Adams Avenue, Costa Mesa
Additional Information: Children entering firs through sixth grade
will enjoy many activities including guest speakers, games, arts and
crafts, as well as all-day and mini-excursions to local venues.
Register at the Balearic Community Center, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday
through Friday. Spaces fill rapidly. Walk in registrations will have
first priority. Mail-ins will be accepted based on availability.

Summer Teen Camp
When: Monday to Friday, 8a.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 27 -- August 19
Additional Information: Students in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades
are invited to take part in Summer Teen Camp. Teens can participate
in eight weeks of daily excursions to destinations such as amusement
parks, movies, baseball games and the beach. Participants must bring
a sack lunch or money to buy lunch each day. Registration is 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. at the Downtown Recreation Center. Walk in registrations
only. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

What: The Terry Coville’s Discovery Summer Soccer
Camp emphasizes basic soccer skills and the pure enjoyment of
playing soccer through a variety of fun games for participants ages
five to 11. Campers should bring a soccer ball and water to each
session. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.

Spiker Camp 2005
When: 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, Aug. 1 to 4
Where: City Gym and Pool, 1600 Palm Ave.
What: An indoor volleyball camp for children ages fifth through
eighth grades. Local coaches and players will teach campers to spike,
pass, set, serve and dig. Highlights include vertical jump testing,
visual aides, prizes, awards and camp tournaments. The class is
limited to 40 children.

SCIENCE
Camp Pinneped
Campers will dive into the world of flippers, fins and flukes at
the Pacific Marine Mammal Center working hospital.
As junior volunteers, campers will learn how the center cares for
seal and sea lion patients -- from rescue to release -- and explore
marine biology, observe animal rehabilitation in action, create ocean
art and make fish smoothies.
The center was established in 1971 and is the sole marine mammal
rehabilitation facility in Orange County. Since it was founded, the
center has been responsible for the care and rehab of almost 4,500
seals, sea lions and cetaceans.
All camps held from 9 a .m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 9
a.m.-noon, Friday, at the center on Laguna Canyon Road. After-camp
Rookery program runs until 5:15 p.m., daily.

Laguna Beach High School baseball camps
Baseball fundamentals. Participants will receive individualized
instruction, a high school T-shirt and prizes based on improvement
and performance. Six campers per coach. Camps end with a barbecue.
