City Hall planning meeting rescheduled
A meeting to gather public input on whether Newport Beach needs a new
City Hall, originally scheduled today, has been rescheduled for April
2. Another public workshop will be held April 23. Officials are
considering replacing the City Hall.
City Hall’s oldest building was built in 1948, and several
buildings have been added over the years. However, they do not meet
standards to accommodate disabled visitors or to withstand
earthquakes.
Project possibilities include replacing City Hall and a fire
station and adding a parking structure, or renovating the existing
City Hall to better serve customers.
The next workshop will be held at 10 a.m. April 2. For more
information, call (949) 644-3311.
