The Huntington Beach HeadStart Family Resource Center along with
Cuidar for Attention and Learning is offering a free course for
parents who want to learn to cope with their child’s behavioral
issues.
The 10-session program is designed to help parents with
preschool-aged children, 3 to 5, who have problems paying attention
or difficulty sitting still.
The course is free and will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from
Tuesday to April 5 at the Boys & Girls Club of Huntington Beach, 9191
Pioneer Drive.
The course will teach parents the skills to handle their child’s
attention or behavior problems, and if necessary, the children can
come to the Cuidar clinic for further evaluation, said Shahrzad
Woodard of the clinic.
“They learn the skills to deal with children and understand why
the child behaves this way,” Woodard said.
To enroll in the class parents can call the Boys & Girls Club of
Huntington Beach at (714) 964-4526 or Cuidar for Attention and
Learning at (949) 824-2462.
