LOCA offers Art Escapes Workshops
Laguna Outreach Community Arts Art Escapes program will offer a
three-part watercolor workshop at 2 p.m. Jan. 21 and 28, featuring
nationally known artist, exhibitor and teacher Roger Folk.
The class at the Women’s Club, 286 St. Anne’s Drive, is suitable
for all artistic levels and costs $30. Class size is limited, for

Laguna College
to hold workshop
Laguna College of Art and Design will offer a stone carving winter
workshop Saturday through March 10.
The workshop is taught by master stone carver Marvin Johnson. No
prior experience is necessary to take the class.
The 10-week series costs $300 with two make-up classes. For

Laguna Beach
Live! set
Laguna Beach Live! is sponsoring the “Generations of Jazz” concert
at 8 p.m. on Jan. 22, featuring saxophone legend Charles McPherson,
his son Chuck on drums, father and son guitarists Dave and Larry
Koonse and the McPherson Quartet.
The concert is at Laguna Beach High School’s Artists’ Theatre, 625
Park Ave. Tickets are $30/$25 reserved and $15 for students.

Festival’s artist deadline nears
Artists who want to exhibit in this summer’s Festival of Arts are
invited to submit slides of their best work and complete an

‘Art for Aids’
with Shepherd
“Art for AIDS IV: An Evening with Cybill Shepherd,” an event
benefiting AIDS Services Foundation Orange County and Laguna Art
Museum will be on Feb. 5 in the pacific Ballroom at The St. Regis
Monarch Beach Resort and Spa in Dana Point.
Shepherd will take center stage in the role of the evening’s
celebrity guest and performer. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m.
with cocktails, a dinner buffet and a silent auction of artwork and
donated celebrity items. The live auction will start at 8:30 p.m.
followed by Shepherd’s performance and a live band.
Tickets are $285, $500 or $1,000. Sponsorships are $10,000 and

Blue Water festival will aid ocean causes
The Surfrider Foundation will celebrate its 20th anniversary
locally with the “Blue Water Music Festival” at 2 p.m. Feb. 5. on the
Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.
The benefit concert will feature live performances by Missiles of
October, Common Sense, World Anthem, Blues Offenders, Jason Feddy,
Evren Ozan and others. A portion of the proceeds will go to the
Pacific Marine Mammal Center and Ocean Laguna Foundation.
Tickets are $100 for VIP and $50 general admission, both include a
year membership to Surfrider. Ocean-related art, environmental
education, surf films, a silent auction, vendor booths, food and
