Laguna Canyon Artists open studios

Laguna Canyon Artists’ will have its annual Holiday Open Studios

event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5. More than 30 artists will

participate. It’s a chance to meet artists and see their studios and

works in progress. A range of art media is available for purchase.

It’s the last chance to see world-renowned artist Fitz Maurice

before she relocates to New Mexico. Maurice will participate both

days and will have a farewell party from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 at her

studio.

No Square presents ‘60s musical ‘Beehive’

No Square Theatre will open its season with the 1960’s musical

sensation “Beehive†at 8 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 at the Forum Theatre.

The “Beehive†cast illustrates life growing up in the ‘60s, the

issues and events and the popular music that affected the generation.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for seniors and students and can

Sawdust Winter Fantasy back

The 14th annual Sawdust Winter Fantasy will feature 173 artists

working in diverse media with works for sale. Entertainment, food and

beverages, activities and art classes for children and adults are

available for free with paid admission.

Sawdust Winter Fantasy, 935 Laguna Canyon Road, will be open 10

a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Dec. 4, 5, 11 and 12.

One time adult admission is $4.50 or $5.50 for unlimited access.

Entry is $2 for children 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

Gallimaufry’s Youth theater raises funds

Generation Gallimaufry Arts Project, a youth theater that is part

of Gallimaufry Performing Arts, will have its first fundraiser from 5

to 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 at a private residence in Laguna Beach.

The fundraiser will include food, drinks and entertainment from

the youth theater members. Tickets are $30. For reservations, call

Laguna College to hold ‘First Sundays’

Laguna Beach Live! and Laguna College of Art and Design will host

December’s “First Sundays†concert and exhibit. The gallery will open

at 2 p.m. and the concert will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5.

Flutist Susan Fries and guitarist Eric Brenton will perform

Vivaldi and other classics. “The Art and Entertainment of Chuck

Jones†exhibit will feature many of his lesser known works in oils,

watercolors, charcoal drawings and acrylics. Laguna College of Art

Annual Woody’s wreath auction set

Shanti Orange County together with Woody’s at the Beach will host

the seventh annual Wreath Auction at 8 p.m. Dec. 7. All of proceeds

support AIDS services. Last year 29 wreaths were donated and

auctioned. The wreath auction has netted more than $80,000 to help

those living with HIV/AIDS.
