Parent educator Sandy Spurgen McDaniel was the featured speaker at
the Nov. 17 Coffee Break.
McDaniel focused on helping parents avoid power struggles with
their children and said much of the parent and child dynamic is about
power. McDaniel said it is important to be consistent, pro-active and
establish negotiable rules.

Excellence holds public meet
The Quest for Excellence committee will invite the public to its
regular meetings at the district office, 550 Blumont St. An academic
depth discussion will be the topic of the meeting, from 2:45 to 3:30
p.m. on Monday at the high school’s room 20.
On Dec. 3 at the district office the Quest for Excellence full
committee will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. and the Social and Emotional
Education Development committee will meet from 10 a.m. to noon.

Computer program gets a fundraiser
Laguna Beach High School will hold its annual Holiday Boutique
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 4.
A plethora of gifts from many vendors will be sold as a fundraiser
