Medical center deserves praise not criticism
Cheryl Kinsman
Rik Lawrence was wrong to criticize South Coast Hospital in his
letter to the editor (“Flu shot experience was less than efficient,â€
Coastline Pilot, Nov. 19).
While he’s right that people were lined up nearly to Coast Highway
when the doors to the free flu shot clinic opened, he failed to point
out that people with special needs, such as the man he assisted, were
moved to the front of the line at that clinic. He failed to
appreciate the volunteer nurses and assistants who helped him and
others receive their free flu shots. Lawrence also failed to notice
that I showed up at the hospital at 9:30 a.m. and that by 10 a.m.
there were still 500 doses of vaccine available and no line at all.
South Coast Medical Center, our hospital, has again proven its
importance to the people of Laguna Beach.
I hope Lawrence will join me and all other Lagunans in making a
tax deductible charitable contribution to South Coast Medical Center
Foundation at 31872 Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, Ca. 92651 to show
how much we appreciate their services to the Laguna Beach community.
