Water Polo winter session to begin
The Huntington Beach Water polo winter session season will begin
Monday at the Huntington Beach High aquatics facility.
The season will run through Feb. 25.
Practice times will be held for the following divisions:
12-and-under from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; High School
boys from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 14-and-under girls
from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 14-and-under boys from
6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Friday Night Conditioning (all
ages) from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The cost for age groups boys and girls is $225. The cost for high
school-age boys is $150.
The club also will hold a tryout in January for its 2005 travel
team.
Stalin Reyes serves as the club’s head coach, with Scott Miller
and Vicky Barker as assistant coaches.

Girls’ softball registration
The South Huntington Beach Girls Softball league will hold its
final registration session for its upcoming 2005 spring season the
weekend of Dec. 11 to 12.
Registration will take place from noon to 4 p.m. both days at the
Lampost Pizza at the corner of Brookhurst Street and Adams Avenue in
Huntington Beach.
A free slice of pizza and small drink will be given to all players
who sign up on either of the two dates.
Field evaluations will be held on Jan. 8, 2005, at the Edison
Community Park Fields in Huntington Beach.
The league draws players from Huntington Beach and the surrounding
areas of Costa Mesa, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove,
Newport Beach and Seal Beach, and is open to players ages 5 to 18.
South Huntington Beach Girls’ Softball, a member of the nationally
recognized Amateur Softball Assn., is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit
youth softball organization whose goal is to develop, direct and
promote the sport.
