Newport Harbor High senior football standout Trevor Theriot sustained
a dislocated left elbow Thursday against Corona del Mar and could
return in six to 10 days, his father, Brian, said Friday.
Theriot, a running back and linebacker, was injured in the third
quarter of the Sailors’ 21-17 come-from-behind win. The Tars’ leading
rusher with 324 yards on 47 carries this season was attended to for
several minutes on the field and trainers placed a splint on his arm.
Newport Harbor Coach Jeff Brinkley, who consoled Theriot on the
field, said after the game that he believed the arm was broken.
