Bruisers get past Blue Ice Dogs

In a battle between two 8-and-under Division teams in Huntington
Beach Girls Softball, the Bruisers emerged with a 10-4 victory over
the Blue Ice Dogs.
With the pitching of Sammie Vandiver and Kaylee Peterson, defense
of Mary McGregor and Bailey Buffington and hitting of Peterson,
Rebecca Swartz, Ashley Edwards, Annie Jo Accetta, Paige Wietzal and
Alyssa Isogawa, the Bruisers pieced together their best team
performance of the season.

Bobble Heads 8; Orange Flames 5
Two big-time home runs by Kasey Cutchshaw helped lead the Bobble
Heads to a win over the Orange Flames.
Drew Bradley, who had an infield single, scored on Dana Rutkin’s
single in the first inning to open up the Bobble Heads’ scoring.
Cutchshaw then hit a long fly to deep left field to make it 3-0.
The Flames answered with a run on singles by Sydney McCollum and
Breanna Payson to narrow the gap to 3-1.
The Bobble Heads scored five more runs in the third inning.
Sierrah Teremura started it off by beating out a ground ball to
third and scored on Bradley’s second hit of the day. Bradley than
came in on Jane Reynolds’ double.
Reynolds scored on Rutkin’s single, and Cutchshaw hit a line drive
so far that no play was able to be made, making it an 8-1 game.
The Flames staged a two-out rally in their final at-bat, using
consecutive hits by McCollum, Payson, Emily Aranda, Kyna Toma and
Billi Derleth to score four runs.
Cheyenne Rankin also doubled for the Bobble Heads.
