Take a walk on the wildflower side
The Fairview Park Friends Committee is hosting a wildflower walk
this morning. Bo Glover, executive director at Newport Beach’s
Environmental Nature Center, will conduct the seasonal tour.
Glover will point out various native flowering plants, as well as
nonnative wildflowers, during the two-hour hike. Dogs on a leash are
welcome to join their owners.
The walk may be shortened or canceled because of rain.
The walk will start at 9 a.m. in the westerly parking lot. For

Iris lovers’ eyes will be smiling Sunday
The Southern California Spring Garden Show continues through
Sunday at South Coast Plaza.
The event, now in its 15th year, is expected to attract more than
100,000 garden enthusiasts and will include more than 75 specialty
vendors, talks by garden experts and authors and the Southern
California Iris Society’s annual Iris show.
The show is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Sunday. It’s located on all three levels of the Crate and
Barrel/Macy’s Home Store Wing of South Coast Plaza. Admission is
free.
