Toni Iseman to be honored
Councilwoman Toni Iseman will be honored Feb. 6 at the annual Laguna
Beach Woman’s Club luncheon for the outgoing mayor.
The public is invited.
Iseman, who served as mayor in 2003, is serving her second term on
the council.
During her tenure, Iseman has focused on issues she believes
affect the quality of life in Laguna, such as reducing traffic and
circulation problems downtown and throughout the city; keeping Laguna
Canyon undeveloped, including opposition to moving the city
maintenance yard to the ACT V parking lot; and noise in residential
neighborhoods from low-flying airplanes and illegal motorcycles.
“Toni has been an effective role model to encourage women in
Laguna Beach to enter public service,†club member Anne Johnson said.
“What impresses me most is the way she keeps in touch and listens
to the concerns of the residents and business people in town,†she
said. “She returns phone calls promptly and attends many community
events.
“Her mission in office has been to preserve and protect Laguna
Beach, and she has remained true to that,†Johnson said.
Iseman is a member of the Woman’s Club.
The luncheon will also include the Dessert Contest with two
categories: chocolate and other. Prizes will be awarded.
Jan Barbieri is the luncheon chair.
Admission is $18 if a prepaid reservation is made by Feb. 1, $20
if paid at the door. For more information or reservations, call (949)
497-1200.
