Reflections, a program for the arts sponsored by the National PTA,

will display photography and visual art entries in the Huntington

Beach Central Library through Sunday. Entries from 24 participating

schools in four school districts, kindergarten through high school,

will be on display in the children’s wing. Entries will be judged and

scored and the top 35 entries out of the four divisions will go on to

the state PTA level, then sent on to the National PTA. Information:

The Main Street branch of

the Huntington Beach Public Library will host a holiday book sale

Saturday through Dec. 18, with a half-off sale on its last three

Huntington Dog Beach, a nonprofit corporation, is seeking

volunteers for a beach cleanup from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Organizers

TUESDAY

The Chamber of Commerce and city of Huntington Beach will present

the 17th annual economic conference from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the

Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. Sacramento Bee journalist Dan Walters

will be the featured luncheon speaker, giving an update on what’s

happening in the political arena in Sacramento. Tickets are $70.

The Christmas Day Buffet at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort

will feature live piano accompaniment to a fine and festive dining

experience. The Buffet will include fresh fruits, berries, salads and

a Waterfront Sushi Display of Pickled Ginger and Wasahi. Entrees

include Roasted Free-Range Turkey, Prime Rib Roasted on the Bone,

Maple Glazed Pork Loin, Grilled Swordfish, Herb Crusted Halibut and

The Huntington Beach

Chapter of the National Assn. of the Physically Handicapped

provides help to disabled children/adults and help their lives to

become more vital to the community through providing informative

newsletters four times a year from National Headquarters. It meets on

the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Wycliffe Gardens

Pete’s authentic ‘Dance

for the Waves” Luau includes a lei and shell greeting, Polynesian

The Clara Barton chapter

The Point-to-Point

chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild meets on the fourth

provides education in needle arts, particularly needlepoint, and is

The Pacific Coast Mothers

Club, a Huntington Beach-based organization that brings mothers

together for companionship and support in child rearing, is inviting

new members. Moms and their children, from newborns to 5-year-olds,

attend weekly playgroup and seasonal parties. The longtime

organization also holds monthly dinner meetings and supports the

community with volunteerism and charity fund-raisers. Moms from all
