Laguna city team places high at meet

The Laguna Beach sponsored Youth Cross Country team advanced four
runners to the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation
cross country championships.
The event is set for Saturday in Orange. The team placed first or
second in each age group race at the Orange County championships on
Nov. 23.
Marlee Grosher set a record time of 3:37 in the 1996 Division
1-kilometer. Coach Fred Pichay said Grosher is one of the best
runners he’s ever coached.
First place in the 1997 Girls’ Division 1-kilometer was Caitlyn
Diehl with a time of 5:53. William Joseph Rousseau IV received the
first place medal in the 1994 Boys’ Division 1994 1.5-kilometer run
with a time of 6:09.
Gerry Leah Artman finished second in the 1991 Girls’ Division 19
3-kilometer run with a time of 15:15.
The championship in Orange on Saturday will be at 10:30 a.m. at
Eisenhower Park.
