Sandpiper moved into a third-place tie in the City of Laguna Beach
Men’s Fall 16 Slow Pitch Softball League standings by virtue of a 6-3
victory over Team Viagra at Riddle Field.
Team Viagra had taken the lead in the top of the third inning,
thanks to a three-run home run by Cam Hammil. Sandpiper, however,
came back in the bottom of the frame to tie the score.
Mickey Allen delivered a two-run homer to narrow the gap to 3-2,
and Dave Sommerville followed with a solo homer to knot the game.
Sommerville also led Sandpiper defensively.
IN OTHER GAMES:
Ganahl Lumber 7, Solag Hamstrings 3
The last-place Solag Hamstrings gave first-place Ganahl Lumber a
solid battle in the second game of a tripleheader at Riddle Field.
Robert Bonn had two hits, including a two-run home run and Mark
Judy went two for three to pace Lumber’s offense.
The hitting of Will Miniaci led Solag Hamstrings.
Courtesy Auto Body 6, Good, Bad and Ugly 4
Dave McKinley hit a two-run home run in a three for four
performance and Courtesy Auto Body kept pace with Ganahl Lumber atop
the league standings with the victory.
Mark Brock hit a three-run triple to lead the Good, Bad and Ugly
offense.
