at Smith Elementary
Agnes Smith Elementary School will have its first school-wide
pumpkin patch on the playground from 1:30 to 6 p.m. today.
There will also be a bake sale and silent auction for pumpkins
decorated by each room, with the money buying gift certificates for
teachers.
Pumpkins will be donated by Debbie and Hannah True from Melissa’s
Produce. For more information, call Pat Maddams at (714) 536-5360.
Patti’s second preschool breaks ground Saturday
Patti’s Preschool will break ground at the newly redeveloped
Seacliff Village shopping center from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, for a
second preschool.
The school is directed and owned by Patti Young, and has been in
operation in Huntington Beach since 1980. The original school will
stay at Goldenwest Street and Warner Avenue.
The new preschool will also have only 10 children per teacher and
offer an academically challenging kindergarten class. Hot dogs will
be provided Saturday.
A party for the Make-a-Wish Foundation
La Petite Academy Preschool in Huntington Beach will have its
Make-A-Wish Fall Festival from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, with a jumper
and games for children and food for everyone.
Raffles to win gift baskets, prizes, donated times and gift
certificates will take place throughout the day, with all proceeds
benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of
children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Children are encouraged to come in costume to celebrate Halloween
early. Admission is $3 for children and $2 for adults. La Petite
Academy is in the Newland Center, at 19860 Beach Blvd.
