American Eskimo
Sugar is an 8-year-old female American Eskimo with some amazing
qualities. Her owner has now passed away, but “Sugar” had saved her
owner’s life a few times by retrieving help when he lay motionless on
the floor.
“Sugar” is now grieving the loss of her master. She’s lonely and
needs a companion that will make her feel needed again.
She is loyal and sweet natured, well trained and very smart. She
is even trained to bark when the phone rings!
Sugar would have been turned away at many local Orange County
Shelters, including Newport Beach.
Most city shelters refuse to take local people’s pets, because it
would force euthanasia rates to rise and create a bad image for the
city.
That is why they refer pet owner’s to the Orange County Animal
Shelter to relinquish their pets. However, only 50% of the dogs and
10% of the cats are adopted and make it out alive.
It is very sad that people just don’t know the facts. Beautiful
animals are killed everyday. To save more animals lives they need to
spay and neuter, donate to rescue organizations and become involved
in being a foster parent to an animal in need.
Community Animal Network is a pro-quality life organization. We
don’t have a facility, our hearts are as big as homes and we have a
100% adoption rate.
The Community Animal Network is a community-supported animal
organization linking people and pets through community action. See
other animals available for adoption at www.animalnetwork.org, or
stop by Russo’s pet store at Fashion Island between noon and 4 p.m.
on weekends. Information: (949) 759-3646, or write to the Community
Animal Network at P.O. Box 8662, Newport Beach, CA 92658.
