Avalanche edges Blue Thunder

Eric Jones’ goal off a Brett Webber feed in the third period proved
to be the difference in the Howe Division matchup between the
Avalanche and Blue Thunder.
Jones scored at the 9:05 mark of the period gave Avalanche a 4-3
victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
It was the first goal of the game for Jones, who had assisted his
team’s first three goals.
Lauren Martin, Webber and Michael Feirstein each scored single
goals.
Brad Brandenburg recorded 26 saves.
Blue Thunder’s scoring came from Justin Pederson, Adam Schneider
and Christopher Nagle and Troy Bundy had an assist.
Jacob Renaud finished with a division-best 40 saves.

Thunder 6, Sharks 5
Austin Heinz scored twice and Conner Richard recorded a goal and
two assists to lead the Thunder past the Sharks.
Jacob Gonzales, Caitlin Apostol and Matt Korn also scored and
Gonzales had an assist for the Thunder.
Kevin Hetrick had 24 saves.
The Sharks’ scoring was spread among Zach Dickson, Timothy
Francis, Kyle Macleod and Kyle Morrill.
Macleod led the team in assists with two and Dennis Grijalva had
21 saves.
Wazabinators 6, Diablos 3
Blake Cooper paved the way for the Wazabinators with two goals and
an assist.
Michael Marchand and Garrett Blackwell also scored and Josh Grier
had an assist.
Eric Grant had 26 saves.
For the Diablos, Jared Rassler, David Gutierrez and Casey Childers
scored and Rassler, Micahel Diaz and Ben Piontkowski each had an
assist.
Cameron Nagai also had 26 saves.
Lightning 6, Nemesis 5
Zachary Wray scored consecutive goals in the final stanza to lift
the Lightning past Nemesis.
Brett Morinaka also had two goals and Luke Loggins and George
Zuniga also scored.
Morinaka and Scott Cassidy each had a pair of assists and Zuniga
and Loggins each had one.
Brett Shaver finished with 33 saves.
Wazabinators 7, Red Wings 1
Justin Bracamontes scored three goals as the Wazabinators ran away
from the Red Wings.
Ryan Gallegos, Mike Daffner, Blake Cooper and Josh Grier each
scored and Garrett Blackwell had two assists and Grier and Gallegos
each had one assist.
Eric Grant got the win on 14 saves.
