BLUE BELL FOUNDATION FOR CATS
A cat sanctuary devoted to taking care of cats that have been
given up for adoption and then deemed “unadoptable” for various
reasons. Cats staying at the Blue Bell Foundation stay there for
their entire lives. For more information, or to volunteer, call (949)

THE CANYON CLUB
Holds Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on the hour from 6 a.m. to 10
p.m. daily with some Al-Anon meetings as well. Organizers aim to keep
the program simple and encourages participants to take the program
one day at a time. The club is at 20456 Laguna Canyon Road.
CHABAD OF LAGUNA JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER
Provides services on the weekends and runs a pre-school during the
week in Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente. All activities at
the center are open to everyone. Information: (949) 499-0770.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS -- YOUTH SHELTER
Short-term program for at-risk teens. The goal of the
therapeutically-based program is to reunite teens with their
families. Information: (949) 494-4311.
COMMUNITY ART PROJECT
Community-based organization places public art in private
locations in Laguna Beach. Public meetings take place at 5 p.m. on
the third Monday of each month in Wells Fargo Bank, 220 Ocean Ave.
FRIENDS OF THE SEA LION -- MARINE MAMMAL CENTER
Rescues, rehabilitates and releases sick and injured seals and sea
lions. Coverage area includes all beaches from San Onofre to Seal
Beach. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at 20612
Laguna Canyon Road.
FRIENDSHIP SHELTER, INC.
The only year-round emergency shelter for homeless adults in South
Orange County, its mission is to assist homeless adults in regaining
their self-esteem and self-reliance. The shelter has a structured and
comprehensive rehabilitation program. Information: (949) 494-6928.
LAGUNA CANYON CONSERVANCY
Membership organization promotes and preserves natural resources
and open space surrounding Laguna Beach. Information meetings spurred
by public participation take place on the first Monday of each month
at 6:30 p.m. at Tivoli Terrace from September through May.
