John Frederick Carspecken
John Frederick Carspecken of Laguna Beach died April 26 at his
home. He was 88.
Born in Morgantown, W.Va., he graduated from Princeton University
in 1936 and earned a doctorate from Harvard in 1950. He served in the
military from 1941 to 1946 and was an instructor at Yale University
from 1946 to 1949.
Mr. Carspecken retired to Laguna Beach in 1977 to pursue his love
of travel, exercise, reading, music and walking. He also spent time
with his dogs Gosberton, Priam, Otis and Harry.
Interment was in the mausoleum of the East Oak Grove Cemetery in
Morgantown.
Clarabel Baker-Quiggin
Clarabel Baker-Quiggin of Dana Point died of natural causes on May
25. She was 87. Mrs. Baker-Quiggin was a retired teacher.
She is survived by her sons David of Laguna Beach and John of Dana
Point; and three grandchildren.
Georgia Elaine Dennis
Georgia Elaine Dennis of Dana Point died May 27 of natural causes.
She was 84.
She is survived by daughter Elaine Wurtz; son Bill Dennis; eight
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great
grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Laguna Presbyterian Church.
