SG Roofing downs Team Nolan
With outstanding pitching coming from three players and two others
coming up with big defensive efforts, SG Roofing won its ninth game
in 10 outings by defeating Team Nolan, 10-4, in Laguna Beach Little
League AAA Division play at Riddle Field.
Jake Glazer, Tyler Kesler and Michael Hyden shared pitching duties
and were backed by the defensive play of Sammy Witte and Michael
Seal.
Hyden continued his red-hot hitting by getting three of SG
Roofing’s four hits which included a bases-loaded double.
However, Team Nolan struck first, opening up a 1-0 lead when Remy
Zona scored on Sebastian Schott’s double.
Witte robbed Nolan’s Austin Hilleman of a potential hit and
Kesler, playing catcher, threw out a runner attempting to steal third
base, both plays preventing Nolan from padding its one-run lead.
That lead didn’t last for long.
During its first at-bat, Witte, Hyden, Glazer and Alex Gromet
scored on key hits by Hyden and Drew Romero as SG Roofing took a 4-1
lead.
After Glazer struck out three in the second inning, SG Roofing
extended its lead to 7-1 as Hyden came up with his second hit and
scored along with Seal and Witte.
Team Nolan cut the deficit to 7-3 in the top of the third but SG
Roofing came back with two more runs in the bottom of the frame as
Alex Gustis and Jase Swinden scored on Hyden’s double to left field.
Hilleman’s line-drive single scored Luke Barker in the fourth to
make the score 9-4 but again, SG Roofing came back in the bottom of
the inning, getting its 10th run when Glazer stole home.
Nolan’s Cole Kennedy denied SG Roofing any further runs in the
inning when he made a running catch of Seal’s hit to right field.
Nolan’s Ben Hanson, who doubled in the game, threw the final two
innings and struck out five.
Hyden closed out the game for SG Roofing, benefiting from two
standout plays at shortstop by Kesler.

Oysters, setting up Bhansali’s hit which scored Maison.
