MUDD MAKE-UP SCHOOL ARTIST AT OCC

Senior make-up artist instructor Paul Thompson, will speak at 10

a.m. Tuesday at Orange Coast College’s Green Room. Thompson is a

former OCC Theatre Department student and a senior makeup instructor

and partner at MUDD Make-Up in Burbank. MUDD is one of two accredited

make-up schools in California. The event is free. OCC is at 2701

CUBA’S ORQUESTA ATAGON

Hear the rich sounds of Orquesta Aragon at 8 p.m. today at the

Barclay Theatre. For more than 60 years, this legendary ensemble has

introduced the sounds of Cuban jazz to countries around the world.

Opera Pacific presents Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” in Segerstrom Hall.

‘RUSSIAN BEAUTY’

The Pacific Symphony plays a program of Russian works on Wednesday

and Thursday at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. The

divertimento from Stravinsky’s “The Fairy Kiss,” written on the 35th

anniversary of Tchaikovsky’s death, and Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto

No. 1 precede Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” ballet suite. Tickets cost

Canadian pianist and composer Marc-Andre Hamelin will perform at
