Estancia sweeps Mustangs, again

Juniors Kris Hartwell and Josh Kornegay recorded 10 and nine kills,

respectively, to lead the Estancia High boys volleyball team to a

15-3, 15-4, 15-4 Golden West League victory over visiting crosstown

rival Costa Mesa Wednesday.

Brad Larsen added six kills to help give the Eagles’ seniors a

victorious send-off in their final regular-season home match this

spring. Setter Trevor Holmes had 25 assists and four kills for the

Eagles (23-6, 11-0 in league).

Costa Mesa fell to 1-14, 0-9.

Lightning falls in five

* Sage Hill School was defeated, 10-15, 7-15, 15-10, 15-4, 15-11, by Academy League boys volleyball host Whitney Wednesday.

Junior Kevin Joyce had 17 kills, Macsun Frederick added 11 and

Julian Smith-Newman had 37 assists for Sage Hill, which fell to 8-5,

6-5 in league.
