Thurston honored as distinguished school

Thurston Middle School is now among the 5% of state schools

officially stamped “distinguished.”

The official designation of Thurston as a California Distinguished

School will be made at Disneyland on May 16, where Principal Chris

Duddy will receive a plaque and flag to display on campus.

Easter egg hunt volunteers sought

Children age 9 and younger are invited to go egg hunting at 1 p.m.

Sunday at on Laguna Beach High School’s athletic field.

The event, held annually by American Legion Post 222 and its

auxiliary, needs volunteers to prepare eggs at 12:30 p.m. Saturday

and to hide them at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures before the hunt,
