MONDAY
* South Coast Highway: After a girlfriend and boyfriend broke up,
the 46-year-old man reported that the 40-year-old woman threatened to
shoot him. He feared for his life, he told police.
* Park Avenue: The mother of a child who had been in a fight at
the high school a week earlier reportedly threatened the vice
principal with physical harm over the phone.
* Wesley Drive: An employee reported that $5 was stolen from her
desk at Anneliese’s preschool over the weekend.
SUNDAY
* West Street: A male reported that $10,800 had been stolen from
his house while he was out of town on vacation. He said $10,000 in
cash and $800 in merchandise was missing. Police suspect that the
burglar entered through a window and left by the front door.
* Gaviota Drive: A female claimed two stereos and a bedspread had
been stolen from the home she lives in part-time. She said one stereo
was stolen in September, and the other one, along with the bedspread,
was stolen in March. She claimed a loss of $350.
* South Coast Highway: Two cousins who hadn’t seen each other in
years reportedly got in a fight at a family wedding at Hotel Laguna.
One needing an emergency operation on his upper palette. The
42-year-old victim was visiting from Hawaii. The suspect is a
35-year-old Laguna Beach resident.
* West Street: Two brothers were reported fighting at their
house. Police arrived and found that one had a small plastic
container filled with marijuana during a search for weapons on both
parties. The 20-year-old carrying the drugs received a citation, but
no action was taken on the fight.
SATURDAY
* Lower Cliff Drive: A man had his briefcase stolen from the
trunk of his Lexus some time during the night.
* Irvine Cove Way: In response to reports last week, a man said
he wanted to record that he and his dog were also struck by BBs fired
by children in the area on March 23.
MARCH 28
* South Coast Highway: A woman was arrested for DUI after
rear-ending one car and driving away at the corner of Wesley Drive,
then another at Nyes Place, where she stopped long enough to exchange
information, but not for the police to arrive. Police then responded
to a call that someone was driving erratically on South Coast
Highway. They located the car, stopped it, and arrested the
23-year-old .
* South Coast Highway: A 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of
making terrorist threats to a 39-year-old man trying to teach a child
how to surf. The victim said the suspect, described as a transient,
approached the pair as they made their way to the beach on Thalia
Street and made several threats to kill him. Police arrested the
suspect for terrorist threats and on a $500 outstanding trespassing
warrant. Bail was set at $25,000 for the threats.
* Aster Street: A 39-year-old Manhattan Beach resident reportedly
fell out of her car when stopped on suspicion of drunk driving.
Police responded to a call that someone was driving on the wrong side
of the road at Bluebird Canyon and South Coast Highway. Police
responded and located the vehicle, which was swerving noticeably.
They turned on the sirens, but the driver reportedly kept driving for
a couple blocks before stopping. She was arrested on suspicion of
driving under the influence.
