Ben Hannah went 3 for 5 with four RBIs to pace Orange Coast College’s
baseball team to a 10-5 triumph over host Fullerton in an Orange
Empire Conference game Thursday.
Hannah’s solo blast came in the first, and was followed by Greg
Benoit’s blast in the fourth inning, part of a four-run rally.
Joe Morrison led off the inning with a double, and Hannah followed
with a two-run single to break things open. Benoit also doubled in
two runs en route to finishing 2 for 3.
Jimmy Treece came on in the eighth to relieve starter Garrrett
Murdy and collected one strikeout.
Ryan Mathes went 2 for 4 and catcher Dustin Hicks slammed three
hits in four at bats for Coast (10-8-1, 2-5 in the OEC).
The Pirates host Saddleback at 2 p.m. Tuesday and again Thursday
to make up for a game that was rained out earlier this season.
