OCC women rumble

CYPRESS -- Orange Coast College’s women’s basketball team was a
58-46 Orange Empire Conference winner over host Cypress Wednesday
night, with the three-point shot the big factor.
The Pirates nailed 8 of 20 from the perimeter, with Nancy Hatsushi
(four) and Lindsey Galasso and Liz Mendoza (two each) accounting for
the edge.
Coast, now 24-5, 9-2 in the OEC, jumped to a 24-20 halftime lead
with a 9-0 edge on three-pointers.
Hatsushi, a product of Costa Mesa High, led all scorers with 16
points, and had five assists.
Medoza was also in double figures with 12 points and had seven
assists.
Lauren Murray, with nine points, was a the catalyst on the boards
with 11 rebounds.
Cypress falls to 17-12, 5-6.
The Pirates are at rival Golden West on Friday.
