Chelsea Lyman and Alyssa Jones each had three goals in the 10-1

frosh-soph victory.

* In college women’s water polo: UC Irvine’s women’s water polo

team went up against second-ranked UCLA and sixth-ranked Loyola

Marymount Wednesday, but even the home pool advantage didn’t seem to

offset too much.

UCLA was an 18-1 winner in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation

play, and Loyola was a 9-1 nonconference winner.

The Anteaters, now 4-4,0-1, broke the scoring ice against UCLA in

the first period on an Adelaide Perram goal, and Erica Horman scored

in the third period to snap Loyola’s shutout bid.

UCLA, 3-1, 1-0 in the MPSF, had it won at halftime, 10-1. Among

the Bruins’ scoring leaders was Newport Harbor High product Katherine

Belden, with two goals.
