CITIZEN ACADEMY
The Laguna Beach Police Department is accepting applications for
the eighth Citizen Academy through Feb. 12. The academy is a 12-week
stressless course designed to provide community members with a better
understanding of the department. The topics covered will include the
history of the department, investigations, traffic enforcement,
gangs, narcotics, police K-9, a field trip to the Orange County Jail
and the police firing range. The academy will begin at 6 p.m. Feb.

SUNDAY
FULL MOON YOGA HIKE
Yoga Place will hold Winter Solstice Sunset/Full Moon Yoga Hike
and Celebration with Kate Olafson. The group will create as it goes
with partner poses, balance poses, vinyasa and meditation. The hike

HOLISTIC HEALING
Judith L. Giustini will conduct an all-day workshop from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. The morning program will focus on the Bio-Energetic
Synchronization Technique and will conclude with a treatment. Lunch
will be served. The afternoon program will focus on nutrition for
life, and students will learn how the acid/alkaline balance
determines whether you will have osteoporosis, arthritis, heart
trouble, hypoglycemia, kidney stones, gall stones, gout, general
crankiness, infertility, type 2 diabetes, allergies, etc., and what

PEDIATRIC CPR
South Coast Medical Center will hold a basic pediatric basic life
support class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a mandatory class level
for registered daycare/childcare providers. This 4-hour class will
include instruction on pediatric CPR and obstructed airway techniques
for both infants, up to a year old, and children 1 to 8 years old.
This class is also recommended for parents, grandparents and
baby-sitters. Reservations are necessary, and the class costs $25 per
person. The minimum age requirement for the class is 13 years. The
class will meet in an auditorium at 31872 S. Coast Highway.

The Laguna Beach Senior Center hosts a monthly USDA surplus food

The South Coast YMCA will offer a new class that addresses
functional strength, balance and stability for seniors. Led by a

The SilverSneakers Fitness classes is an ongoing series designed
for strengthening and conditioning. The self-paced classes are taught
