COSTA MESA -- Vanguard University’s women’s basketball team turned
it on at the start of the second half with a 22-0 run to expand the
lead to 58-22 en route to an 86-51 nonconference victory over
visiting La Sierra Wednesday night.
The Lions, now 8-4, were paced by the double-digit scoring of
Courtney McKinney (23), Laura Lee (19), Robbin Dittenbir (17) and
Paulette Seaman (15) en route to the blowout.
Dittenbir led the way in rebounding with 10 boards.
After La Sierra finally managed to score in the second half, the
Lions answered with an 18-4 run to stretch the gap to 76-28 with 6:49
left.
La Sierra got a run of its own going to cut the deficit to 31
points, but that was as close as it would get.
For the second straight game, McKinney led the Lions in scoring
with an 8-for-11 performance from the field.
Lee, Dittenbir and Seaman all recorded season-highs in scoring.
Lee hit 5 of 10 three-point attempts and Dittenbir had her third
