BRISCOE ON:
* STUDENT SAFETY:
Find and remove persons that failed to report under California
state law. Our children must be allowed to attend class without fear.
* RAISING STUDENT TEST SCORES:
Many of our students do not have textbooks or have received books
late due to poor administration and management. I will immediately
implement a textbook repository where all surplus textbooks from all
schools will be kept. Teachers will be promised a one-day turnaround
supply of required textbooks when requested.
* FISCAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE DISTRICT:
I will work to secure every possible dollar of state and federal
grant and matching money to run our district. I pledge no new taxes
and promise to work within the limits of existing revenue streams,
while working to add new funding from sources other than taxes.
* BIGGEST ISSUE FACING THE DISTRICT:
Impending budget shortfalls, textbook administration failures
leading to students without books and school lunch feeding that sees
students eating junk food and soda pop when milk would be best.
