Second-half magic

It was a tale of two halves Saturday as the AYSO soccer season
began in the boys 10-and-under Division 5 in Region 57 with the Blue
Ice Dragons scoring four unanswered goals in the second half to beat
the Yellow Ferraris, 4-2.
Three Dragons accounted for the four goals as Max Muehlhauser,
Austin Barvin and Daniel Anastos shot the ball into the net on
assists from Blake Myers and Kevin Gordinier.
Strong midfield play for the Dragons was provided by Rodney Keller
and David Leguay with Jake Kausen, Danny Borg-Sundstrom and Liam
Duddy stopping the Ferraris on defense.
Nicholas Roy (goalkeeper) blocked several Ferrari shots.
* In other Region 57 action Saturday, the Green Gators of the
Italian Under 10-Division opened their season with inspired play from
all 11 members.
Michael Haeri scored both of the Gators’ goals, as Jack Presson
assisted on the first goal.
Logan Hartsock, recovering from a tonsillectomy, cheered his
teammates on from the sidelines.
