Youth football begins Saturday
The 2002 youth football season officially starts Saturday.
Huntington Beach Pop Warner Football, featuring play in 12
divisions, will play its home games this fall at Edison High.
Huntington Beach will field teams in the following divisions:
Midget Green Chargers; Jr. Midget Green Chargers; Jr. Midget Gold
Chargers; Pee Wee Green Chargers; Pee Wee Gold Chargers; Jr. Pee Wee
Green Chargers; Jr. Pee Wee Gold Chargers; Jr. Pee Wee White
Chargers; Mighty Mite Green Chargers; Mighty Mite Gold Chargers; Cub
Green Chargers; and Cub Gold Chargers.
Huntington Beach Jr. All-American Football will play home games at
Marina High. The league features play in the following divisions:
Future League Dolphins; Jr. Clinic Dolphins; Clinic Dolphins; Jr. Pee
Wee Dolphins; Pee Wee Dolphins; Jr. Midget Dolphins; and Midget
Dolphins.
NFL Flag Football registration underway
Registration for NFL Flag Football currently is underway at the
West County Family YMCA in Huntington Beach.
The league is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 11, and
registration is being taken until Oct. 4.
Each participant will receive an NFL jersey, NFL wristband, team
photo and individual award.
The NFL Flag Football program focuses on developing football
skills in a safe environment, said Kim Lewis of the West County
Family YMCA.
The NFL Flag Football season officially begins Oct. 28 and
concludes on Dec. 20.
