Extreme sports festival makes stop
The 2002 Core Tour Sports and Music Festival is making a stop in
Huntington Beach on the weekend of Sept. 6-8.
The sports and music extravaganza is scheduled to pit local
amateur athletes against some of the top professionals in the world
for competitions in BMX dirt jumping, skateboarding, inline skating
and mountain board jumping.
The BMX competition will feature competitors flying three stories
high above the 80-ton “King of Dirt” jump competition course. Skaters
will compete on the tour’s extreme street course, and female
competitors will take the spotlight in the “All Girl Skate Jam.”
In addition to the sports, live concerts will take place all
weekend at Pier Plaza.
