Prepsters take top honors

With the culmination of the 2001-02 athletic calendar now official,

four local high schools have announced names of the male and female

athletes of the year for their respective schools.

Below is a listing of each school’s selections, with the sports each

athlete participated in during the school year.

EDISON HIGH

Male: Denny Flanagan, football; track and field.

Female: Rachael Ziemann, basketball; track and field.

HUNTINGTON BEACH HIGH

Male: Brian Ruziecki, football; track and field.

Co-Female: Kari Stockstill, tennis; softball.

Stephanie Shafer, water polo; swimming.

MARINA HIGH

Male: Turill Engelman, football; track and field.

Female: Kristen McGregor, track and field.

OCEAN VIEW HIGH

Male: Matt Hatch, basketball; volleyball.

Female: Courtney Tuggle, softball.
