SPOTLIGHT

Robert Wells will bring his unique style to the Orange Couty

Performing Arts Center on Wednesday with “Rhapsody in Rock.” Wells is a

popular rock star in Sweden. His band joined with a full symphony

orchestra in the late ‘80s for “Rhapsody in Rock,” a concert that

combined the singer’s love for classical music with his rock-and-roll

background.

In 1990, the combination of classical music and rock attracted the

attention of the Soviet Cultural Ministry. Wells took “Rhapsody in Rock”

to Leningrad and did two concerts with the Leningrad Conservatory

Symphony Orchestra at the Glinka Capella Auditorium, Russia’s oldest

concert hall.

This production of “Rhapsody in Rock” will include conductor Anders

Berglund and guests LaGaylia Frazier and Sofia Kallgren.
