1. TEEING OFF: The Alzheimer’s Assn. of Orange County is holding its
10th annual Crean Classic Golf Tournament at 12:30 p.m. today. Following
will be a reception, auction and prize ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The event is
to support free programs and services for patients and families of those
afflicted with the disease. It’s at the Pelican Hill Golf Club, 22651

2. DEFEND YOURSELF: Dennis Morgan, a second-degree black belt in Kung
Fu San Soo, will present the “Practical Self-Defense: Protect Yourself --
Be Safe Not Sorry” workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Orange
Coast College. The workshop will be held in the Aerobics Room of the
Physical Education Department, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. $39 per
person. Registration is accepted at the Community Education Office next

3. DANCING DARLINGS: Muldoon’s Irish Pub will host its fifth annual
Darlings of Dance competition in its garden courtyard from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday. Ranging in age from 7 to 12, the female competitors -- members of
the Celtic Gold Irish Dance Academy -- will perform in traditional Irish
step-dancing apparel. The dancers will participate in a group performance
and then will perform individual interpretive solo performances against
