Musical mornings to be filled with heroes

The Pacific Symphony Orchestra’s 2002-03 Mervyn’s Musical Mornings
series will be themed “Heroes and Heroines of Music” and conducted in
part by assistant conductor Mark Mandarano.
Running Nov. 16 through May 10, six concerts will address everything
from the courage of firefighters to operatic masters on Saturday
mornings. Mandarano will conduct the Family Concerts.
Concert titles include “The Lone Ranger’s Triumph!” and “The Magic
Flute.”

‘Side Man’ to open OCC summer season
Orange Coast College’s summer theater season will open with Warren
Leight’s “Side Man” June 20-22 and 27-29 at the Drama Lab Theatre, 2701
Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.
The Tony Award-winning show tributes men who were devoted to jazz and
kept the art alive.
“Stone Soup,” by David Scaglione; the Repertory Theatre Company’s
one-act play fest; and a show titled “Supersonic Shakespeare” will
complete the rest of the season.
