The Environmental Board of the City of Huntington Beach is accepting

nominations for residents and organizations that have made outstanding

efforts to preserve, protect and conserve the community’s environmental

The American Assn. of University Women, Huntington Beach branch is

holding an authors luncheon and silent auction. The guest author and

comedian will be Dan Barton. The event is on Saturday May 18 at 11 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit the group’s nonprofit educational foundation. The

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 53 will be offering a

13-lesson course in boating skills and seamanship starting at 6 p.m., May

Life. This is an exciting 24-hour event where participants will walk,

run, play, camp out, eat, socialize and otherwise have a great time

raising funds for the American Cancer Society. The event will take place
