Prep baseball: Sage Hill downed, 6-1

CERRITOS - Sage Hill High sophomore Tim Wilkins went 2 for 3, but

the Lightning suffered a 6-1 loss to Academy League-leader Calvary Chapel

of Downey.

Sage Hill (6-15, 1-13 in league) the only Academy League team to hold

the Grizzlies (18-4, 14-0) under 10 runs this season, also received hits

from Zach Friedrichs, Cliff Swanson and George Dempsey.

Tim Wilkins, the starting pitcher who struck out five in four innings,

slammed a triple in the third to drive in Jordan Salinger for the

Lightning’s lone run.

Sage Hill will host Calvary Chapel Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
