Prep Softball: University one-ups Estancia, 3-2

COSTA MESA - The Estancia High softball team scored two runs early

but it wasn’t enough as visiting University edged the Eagles, 3-2 in a

Pacific Coast League softball game, both teams’ final game for the

season.

The Eagles (3-15, 1-7 in league) stranded 10 runners, missing some

golden scoring opportunities throughout the game, said Eagle Coach Marc

Rodig.

“It was a close game, I wish we had played more sound ball,” Rodig

said.

The Eagles did get out of a bases loaded jam in the third, when

pitcher Hillary Ockey got two University batters on groundouts, and

struck out the third to end the inning.
