Motocross: Speedway action today

COSTA MESA - Costa Mesa’s own Bobby “Boogaloo” Schwartz will take
to the dirt race track as the Costa Mesa Speedway headlines its 34-Year
Aniversary 2002 season opener today.
At the Orange County Fairgrounds, the gates will open at 5:30 p.m.,
and the first race is scheduled for 7:30. The season opener kicks off a
season of 23 events on Saturday nights throughout the summer.
The Costa Mesa Speedway also features its arena grandstand seating,
which places every spectator practically on top of the racing action. The
Speedway also encourages race fans to visit the pits after the races and
meet their favorite riders, like Schwartz, a former national champion.
Prices for today’s event include, $10 for adults, children ages 13-17
$6, and 6-to-12-year-olds $3. Children under 5, parking and programs are
free.
