Thurston Middle School recently was awarded a $3,000-grant from the
Pacific Life Foundation.
The school will use the money to purchase one “smart board,” said the
school’s principal, Christopher Duddy.
The 72-inch-wide board hooks onto a wall and has wires that attach to
a computer, allowing a teacher or student to operate the computer by
touching the board, Duddy said.
“If you touch the board, the computer at the desk can do the
function,” Duddy said.
Teachers will be able to check out the board much like they check out
library books, Duddy added.
