A fist full of changes could be on the way regarding the city’s
parking regulations.
On Thursday, the city’s Parking, Traffic and Circulation Committee
will meet to discuss the changes, which could include price increases and
lengthening of the two-hour time limit at metered spots.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall.
The City Council has asked the the committee for a recommendation on
the following issues:
1. Consider increasing the hourly parking meter rate from $1.00 to
$1.50.
2. Consider increasing the two-hour parking meters to three-hour
meters.
3. Consider if the current parking fines and bail should be increased
to $ 30. & $36.
4. Consider asking the banks to eliminate the service fee charged the
merchants for quarters.
5. Consider adding additional change machines.
The committee also will debate the possible installation of a sidewalk
on North Coast Highway between Viejo Street and Ledroit Street.
