Bands to rock out for Laurel House

Altivation, a garage band led by Corona del Mar senior Jonathan Turco,
will join with Orange County trio Pleasure Company on Sunday for a
Newport Beach concert to benefit Laurel House, a Tustin-based teen
shelter.
The concert will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at St. Michael and All
Angels Episcopal Church, 3233 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar. There
is a suggested donation of $10 for students, $15 for adults. All proceeds

Puppets, balloon art part of Newport library fun
As part of the countywide “Imagination Celebration,” the Newport Beach
Central Library will offer an afternoon of “World Class Fun” on May 4.
Balloon art, face painting, juggling and special performances by Jim
Gamble Puppet Productions, storyteller Barbara Klein and the Southern
California Singers will fill the library from noon to 4 p.m.
The Imagination Celebration is a two-week long event that links visual
and performing arts programs to inspire children and families.
The day will be co-sponsored by the Newport Beach Arts Commission. The
library is at 1000 Avocado Ave. Admission is free. Information: (949)

Fair concert tickets to go on sale Monday
Reserved seating tickets for concerts at the latimes.com Theatre and
the Grandstand Arena during the Orange County Fair go on sale Monday.
Tickets are $10. Non-reserved seating is free with general admission to
the fair, July 12-28.
The concert series, running at 8:30 p.m. nightly in the latimes.com
Theatre, will include Linda Ronstadt, Huey Lewis & the News, Martina
McBride, the Indigo Girls, Styx, The B-52’s, Wild Child, The Neville
Brothers, The Fab Four, Keith Urban, O.C. Supertones, The Guess Who, Boz
Scaggs, Heart, Colin Raye and Lynyrd Skynrd.
The comedy series, at the Grandstand Arena, will include performances
by Carrot Top and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Reserved seating tickets do not include admission to the fair and can
be bought at the fair box office, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa or online at
www.ocfair.com.
