A 41-year-old Fountain Valley man suspected of drunk driving was
arrested Sunday after he was involved in an accident that left five
others injured.
Police arrested Arne Linga on suspicion of drunk driving and driving
with a suspended license after the 1984 blue Dodge van he was driving
collided with a green 1995 Ford Explorer in the intersection of Garfield
Avenue and Magnolia Street at about 3 p.m. Sunday, said Lt. Chuck Thomas
of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The occupants in the Explorer, two adults and three children, suffered
minor injuries, were transported to area hospitals and later released,
Thomas said.
Linga is scheduled to appear in court May 7 at the West Justice Center
in Westminster.
Police claim Linga ran a red light as he was driving eastbound on
Garfield Avenue and broadsided the Explorer that was traveling north on
Magnolia Street.
