Air Force Airman Brian Collins has graduated from basic military

training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During training

his studies included organization, customs, drill and ceremony marches

and special training in human relations. Collins is the son of Anne and

stepfather Bob Atkins of Huntington Beach and Michael Collins of

Torrance. He is a 1995 graduate of Huntington Beach High School. . . .

Navy Chief Petty Officer David Marquez recently was promoted to his

current rank while serving at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area

Master Station, Wahiawa, Hawaii. Marquez was a 1972 graduate of Marina

High School. . . . Marine Corps PFC. Stephanie Kinzel recently completed

basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. She

completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge recruits physically

and mentally. She and fellow recruits ended training with The Crucible, a

54-hour team effort at problem solving. Kinzel is the daughter of Sue

Rayburn of Huntington Beach and Robert Kinzel of Thousand Oaks. She is a

2000 graduate of Agoura High School in Agoura Hills. . . . Darren

Davison, of Huntington Beach, has graduated from DeVry Institute of

Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. . .

. James Birk, of Huntington Beach, has been named to the Dean’s List at

Southeast Missouri State University. Students on the Dean’s List must

earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average.
