Pet of the Week

A Newport Beach woman abandoned her orange tabby cat, Toby, at the
doorstep of the Community Animal Network and left behind a note listing
his favorite foods and habits, said DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, founder of the
network.
“People want to believe that they did the right thing to avoid a
shelter,” she said. “But the law requires abandoned animals to be sent to
the pound, and their owners could face a $500 fine.”
The network’s adoption service offers solutions for pet owners. For a
small fee, pets can be shown on weekends at Fashion Island alongside
rescue animals and can have a free Web listing with their photo.
See other animals available for adoption at o7

between noon and 4 p.m. on weekends.
