UCI whips UCLA

Visiting UC Irvine was a 6-4 winner over the UCLA Bruins in
nonconference baseball Wednesday afternoon, keyed by a nine-hit attack
and solid pitching from starter Glenn Swanson and Jimmy Alator, who got
the win in relief when the Anteaters struck for two runs in the eighth
inning.
Jon Horwitz was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored, Matt Anderson
was 2 for 4 with a run scored, and pinch hitter R.J. Brown had a two-run
double for the Anteaters.
UCI improved to 14-12 with the victory, dropping UCLA to 13-13.
